History might be made tomorrow.

So here is what I understand about the situation.

Australian politics are not going very well at the moment. With the GFC and ETS and everything else, from asylum seekers arriving illegally by boatloads to the consideration of giving the huge mining companies higher taxes, nobody is a happy camper in neither of the major parties.

So, the Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, is no longer as popular as he once was.And this year is an election year. So that's no good for the party.

Basically, the Deputy Prime Minister decided to challenge Kevin Rudd as Leader of the Labor Party. That Deputy Prime Minister's name is Julia Gillard. She's a tough redhead with no kids and no apologies. She is cool, calm and collected, stands her ground without flinching and she expresses herself better than most politicians.

Oh yeah.

In less than 12 hours, Australia might have a woman Prime Minister for the first time in history. How cool is that?

That's VERY cool!
Perhaps Canada needs a change like that over the stiffs that « lead » (loosely used)the country.
