And down it comes
I love Australian rain.
Down here, when it rains, it REALLY RAINS. It is pouring out there right now, and the noise it is making on the tin roof is so soothing.
It never drizzles, it always pours down like there is no tomorrow.
It's great.
It is even cooling down the 36 degree day we've just had.
Lovin it! Lovin it!!

Amen. The rain is one of the things I miss most about Australia. The sound of hard rain on a corrugated iron roof, with the smell that comes of the eucalypts (even before the rain starts!), and the sight of a creek breaking its banks.
Dorothy McKellar wrote:
Core of my heart, my country!
Her pitiless blue sky,
When, sick at heart, around us
We see the cattle die
But then the grey clouds gather,
And we can bless again
The drumming of an army,
The steady soaking rain.
Chaque fois qu'un rennais me parle des averses, ca me fait manquer ces cheres extremes.
